La Ermita is a studio-workshop editing original silkscreen artworks and a small art gallery, located on an 1800 hermitage, where the recent editions can be enjoyed.

La Ermita edits limited series of silkscreen, lithography and engraving; carefully conducted by editor and artist; being each unit numbered and signed before leaving the studio.

La Ermita is directed by Jose Jiménez; professional editing silkscreen artwork since 1969. Jose Jiménez has worked with major national artists (from Spain), as well as notable personalities from the international scene.

Among the artists who have edited with Jose Jimenez we can find Rafael Canogar, Genovés, Willy Ramos, Yturralde, Jordi Teixidor, Alfonso Albacete, Pedro Cano, Mitsuo Miura, Maria Lara, Alicia Martin, Marina Nunez, Javier de Juan, Sicre and other great artists of the national scene.

The works are presented in Spanish galleries, as well as in Chicago, USA (of the hands of artists like Willy Ramos) and Germany (with Barbara Eichorn and Ziersch Wentzel).

Exhibition at Molinos del Río, Murcia (Spain).

The original silkscreen artwork has the particularity of being drafted by the author of the work directly, or carried out jointly between the silkscreen master, who dominates the technique and the artist.

This is an hand made process requiring a total immersion in the work, care and long work hours. The development of a limited number of serigraphs copyright requires deeply knowing the technique and effects of overlapping and inks.

For each color, positives need to be worked by hand (using opaque ink on a transparent or translucent acetate); a screen for each color needs to be prepared; the ink colors have to be carefully selected to be printed -playing with effects and qualities that eventually lead to a limited serie of silkscreen artwork, signed and numbered one to one by the artist-.

It is therefore a work of a great artistic value and an example of cooperation to enrich the result and these pieces are suitable for collectors and institutions seeking the highest level in editing original artwork.
